My First Article

This year Oakdale is using a new communication tool. ClassDojo is a website and an app.  Teachers use it to monitor students’ behavior by giving them points for positive and negative actions. ClassDojo is also a way for teachers to keep in contact with parents. Ms. Spencer, a kindergarten teacher says “I like ClassDojo because it allows me to send videos of my students performance to their parents”.

Parents use it by monitoring their child’s behavior. Parents receive messages and are able to look at videos and pictures. Mrs. Lakeedra Kennedy, a parent of two students at Oakdale says “I like ClassDojo. It lets me know what’s going on in my children’s class. I can see how they behave.”

Students also use it by looking at their points they have earned. They can change their class dojo avatar. Chaelan Knox, a 4th grader says “I think ClassDojo is a wonderful website because parents can look at their children’s actions and behavior”.

Teachers, Students, Parents, Art Teachers, Music Teachers, Principals, PE Teachers and Librarians all have access to ClassDojo at Oakdale.
